The I Love My Body Pledge

I, ___________________, pledge to speak kindly about my body and treat it with care.
I vow not to criticize my individual body parts and let their size negate my self-worth, because I am a whole person, and likewise, am defined by all of whom I am.
I vow stop giving the scale power and stop letting the number it reads determine the success of my day. I, not events or piece of metal, have the power to make my day and determine my life’s course.
I vow to stop fat talk, in regards to both myself and others.
I vow to be patient and forgiving with myself when I make mistakes, because I am human and will never be perfect. Making mistakes is a part of life, and I will learn from my missteps.
I vow to be grateful for all the things my body allows me to do, instead of fixating on the size of my body. I will hold onto all the things I have instead of concentrating on what I lack.
I vow to remind myself that bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and that no matter what shape and size my body may be, it is worthy of kindness, compassion, love, and nourishment.
